We love a sunny morning!

Luke had his 7 year well-child doctor visit today and he is healthy and growing! He is 4 feet tall and weighs 48.5 pounds - only 9 more inches and he doesn't have to use the booster seat in the car. :-/ Seems like that is going to take years and years. The only concern is that his right eye is much weaker than the left so he will have his first appointment next week with the eye doctor. We knew this would happen eventually...the odds are against him! Who know, we might get a Luke Potter...
This is Luke's strawberry from breakfast...he thought it was cool that it's shaped like a heart. :-) Instead of Ben and I going out for Valentine's Day, our tradition has been to have a fancy dinner at home. We get out the good plates and silverware and the kids get to drink out of wine glasses. Audrey decided the meal would be lasagna, so her and I put that together last night and it's all ready for Ben to put in the oven after work. They are both super excited for Valentine parties at school today. I am super excited to see how much chocolate they bring home for me to confiscate. I received my Valentine of red roses yesterday and we already gave the kids a few new books. We hope you all get lots of love today!
Tonight was the Cub Scout pack's Blue and Gold banquet and Luke's den reached the achievement of Wolf scout. He has continued his interest in the topics covered in Scouts and enjoys all of the activities. He set his own goal this past fall for popcorn sales and exceeded it, he enjoyed a workshop on birds at the Indian Creek Nature Center, you already saw his Pinewood Derby video, which, by the way, he finished 14th overall, and he is really looking forward to day camp again this summer. Of course Ben and I are very proud of him, but it is so cute to see how proud Audrey is. She went right up to the stage when Luke received his Wolf badge and gave him a big hug.

...just a couple of our kids' favorite foods. They have eaten cherry tomatoes for breakfast and always snack on cheese sticks. I want to remember things like this, so will continue the blog that was once titled, "Bud and Baby's Adventures." We'll now call them Luke and Audrey. :)

20/40
That's Luke's vision with both eyes...20/40. Glasses it is! The doctor said he will definitely want to wear them in the classroom and while watching tv, but he doesn't have to wear them doing close-up work like reading. He enjoyed the eye exam, although his eyes were tired at the end. They dilated his pupils and he thought it was pretty cool seeing the picture of the inside of his eyes. He picked out his frames and really likes them; can't wait to get his actual pair in two weeks.
This picture is me holding up the model of a eye pretending to be a cyclops. He had fun. (That was written by Luke.)

Wolf Scout
Maybe I should explain her attire...she's wearing a swimsuit that we just bought today at Target. She gets warm easily and shed the cute sweater she had on. If I had not stopped her, she would have also removed her pants. Seriously. And no, she is not wearing blush and lipstick, I have no idea why they look so red and glossy!
Anyhow, keep up the good work, Luke!
