Baby is now 3 months old and Bud is going to be 3 in a little over a week! They are both doing well, although Baby has her first cold. :-( She has a runny nose and a bad cough. She's a very attentive baby, curious about her surroundings and wants to know what is going on. No more cradling, she wants to sit up and see the world around her! She really likes to listen to her brother and will smile when he talks to her. The people at her daycare say she is a really good baby and rarely cries.
Bud has started to draw faces...a head, ears, hair, neck, eyes, and mouth. He went from scribbling to faces overnight! A few weekends ago we went fishing again with Kent & Trish and Bud used his new kid-size fishing pole. He caught one fish - reeled it in himself and threw it back. This past weekend we went to Kent & Trish's baby shower and Bud got to see Kent's family's dairy farm. We timed it right and Bud and Daddy saw how they milk the cows. Bud made fast friends with a few little girls at the baby shower and played with them all evening while B and I spent time with friends. Bud and Colin play really well together, too, and we spent time with them Sunday evening. Happy birthday today to Zach!

...just a couple of our kids' favorite foods. They have eaten cherry tomatoes for breakfast and always snack on cheese sticks. I want to remember things like this, so will continue the blog that was once titled, "Bud and Baby's Adventures." We'll now call them Luke and Audrey. :)

2 Month Check-Up
Spud had her 2 month doctor appointment this week and she is 11 pounds and 23 inches long! She's in the 42 percentile for weight and 63 percentile for length. What a change from Bud - he was in the 5 and 10 percentiles! She's doing really well at daycare and they say she's a good baby. She likes to listen to her daddy tell stories and will have conversations with us, too. She has also learned how to manipulate us by spitting her pacifier out and complaining if we leave her alone for even 10 seconds.
Bud has been with his Grandma & Grandpa V. this past week and B is going to get him today. Boy do we miss him! Although, it has been very relaxing at home not having him bossing us around. :o) For a while he was doing really well with his manners but now we have to remind him how to ask for things nicely and use please & thank you. He hasn't missed us one bit, I think he's soaking up all the attention he can get from the grandparents. He was with my parents for most of last week and had a great time there playing with the little Legos. He spent time with Great-Grandma B.S., Jim, & Spencer and ate lunch with them at Cracker Barrel. He also went to work with Grandma in the mornings and would read and color at his desk in the office. This week he got to visit his great-grandma V and go to the aquarium by the Mississippi; they also went to a little zoo-type place and he liked the deer and bobcat, but was afraid of the black bear. One night when we called to see how he was doing we found out he was getting a bath in the kitchen sink. Grandma & Grandpa V. don't have a bathtub; he didn't want a shower that night and insisted on a bath in the sink. I wondered what gave him that idea and remembered the weekend before we gave baby sister a bath in Grandma T.'s sink.
Saturday morning I'm taking the kids to my parents' and we're going to tour our high school. It's Mom's 40th class reunion - whoa. I hope Bud enjoys seeing where his mommy, uncles, grandparents, and great-grandparents went to high school, or "big kid school" as we call it. We may try to go to the fair with Chris & Ryley and see the animals, too. Hopefully we'll get some pictures of Bud's adventures from the past few weeks up on the website soon!
