What a Month!

...and it's not over yet! B had this past weekend off and were we ever busy! Saturday morning we worked in the yard; B tilled the garden and Bud and I planted cucumber and grean beans in the veggie garden as well as wildflower seeds, marigold, and zinnia seeds in various places throughout the yard. We were invited that evening to Lake MacBride where our friends Kent & Trish live and have a pontoon boat. Bud had never been on a boat before and we are so proud of him, he was a great passenger and fisher boy! Daddy and him caught many pan fish, too. Kent taught Bud how to hold the fish by the mouth and throw it back in the water and him and Daddy even got to drive the boat. It was a very relaxing time and we had fun (esp. Mommy, talking to the other 2 pregnant ladies!). We stayed out late enough to see the stars which Bud always likes to see. We look forward to more boat cruises and fishing this summer!

On Sunday Chris & Ryley visited and brought some gifts for us and the baby. Chris made a bench and painted it with flowers, lady bugs, and butterflies - it's so cute! We have it by the door in the living room and it makes for a nice place for me to get Bud's shoes on in the morning. Bud and Ryley played really well together; Bud liked showing him his toys and they played in the yard a lot. It was again a nice relaxing day for Mommy and Daddy played football that afternoon with some friends. B has to work this weekend but we're hoping the baby comes before then so he can have a week off. It's hard waiting since Bud surprised us 16 days early, but we're surviving and enjoying our time with just Bud.

Lots of Family Time

May has been busy already and it's only the 10th! The first day of the month we went to the Build A Bear Workshop and Bud made his sister a bunny to give her on her birthday. That was really fun and I'll get the pictures up on the website soon. Last Thursday we went mushroom hunting but didn't find any, although Bud picked a very beautiful bouquet (or bouhay as he called it) of purple flowers while we walked through the woods. Louise was sick Friday so I had a three day weekend plus it was B's weekend off. On Saturday we went downtown to the Natural History Museum and Bud really enjoyed seeing the animals, skeletons, and birds (they're all stuffed and in display cases). That night we went to Andy & Jess' for a campfire and had a good time. Bud had fun throwing all of Maggie's toys, picking them up then throwing them again. Sunday we went to the raptor center at Lake MacBride; they have injured birds of prey that cannot return to the wild. Bud liked seeing the birds up close but declared the turkey vulture to be yucky (repeated something his dad had said). We then had a picnic by the lake and by that time Bud and I were worn out and we didn't do any hiking to look for mushrooms although Bud said he wanted to. That evening we went to Zach & Nicole's for pizza.

Sunday night we got the baby's car seat in and moved Bud's next to the window. He is pretty excited about being able to see out the window better and thinks it's cool that the baby's seat is back there, too. All we really need to do now is get our hospital bag packed; it's sad but my parents are a step ahead of us and already have their things laid out so they can get here as soon as we need them. We are set on a name and have purchased diapers, so I don't think there's much more we need to do except wait (ugghh).
